Frequently Asked Questions

Laser Hair Reduction
-
Laser hair reduction provides long-term hair reduction, but it cannot guarantee that hair will never return. Some people choose occasional maintenance treatments over time. Long-term results can be influenced by hormones, genetics, age, certain medical conditions, medications, peptide therapies, hair color and thickness, treatment consistency, and future hormonal changes.
-
Most patients are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable laser hair reduction can be.
At Good Vibrations Aesthetics, treatments are performed using the DEKA Motus AZ+ with Moveo technology, which combines continuous contact cooling with gradual energy delivery to enhance comfort while maintaining treatment effectiveness.
Comfort varies depending on the treatment area, hair thickness, skin sensitivity, and individual pain tolerance. Most patients describe the sensation as warmth or a light snapping feeling rather than significant discomfort. During longer treatments, such as full legs or the back, some patients have even fallen asleep.
Every patient experiences treatment differently, but your comfort and safety are always a priority at Good Vibrations Aesthetics.
-
Yes. Good Vibrations Aesthetics uses the DEKA Motus AZ+, featuring true Alexandrite (755 nm) and Nd:YAG (1064 nm) laser technology to safely and effectively treat a wide range of skin types.
-
Most people need 6-10+ sessions for meaningful, long-term hair reduction. Hair grows in cycles, and only a portion of hairs are treatable during each session. Hormones, genetics, medications, and the treatment area can all influence your results.
-
Yes. Please shave the treatment area within 12-24 hours of your appointment. Avoid waxing, tweezing, threading, or sugaring before treatment, as the hair follicle must be present for the laser to work.
Skin Rejuvenation Laser Treatments
-
Non-Ablative Skin rejuvenation laser treatments can help improve a variety of concerns, including sun damage, uneven skin tone, brown spots, facial redness, visible blood vessels, enlarged pores, fine lines, and overall skin texture. During your consultation, we'll determine which treatment, or combination of treatments, is best suited to your skin and goals.
-
There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer. The number of treatments depends on your age, skin concerns, treatment goals, baseline skin quality, degree of sun damage, and the laser being performed. A younger patient focused on prevention and maintenance often requires a different treatment plan than someone with more advanced pigmentation, redness, textural changes, or accumulated sun damage. While some patients notice improvement after a single treatment, most achieve the best results with a personalized treatment series performed at recommended intervals. During your consultation, we'll develop a treatment plan based on your skin, goals, and clinical assessment.
-
Most skin rejuvenation laser treatments involve little to no downtime. Mild redness, warmth, or slight swelling are common and typically resolve within a few hours to a few days, depending on the treatment performed. Pigmented spots treated with Moveo PL may temporarily darken before naturally fading as your skin heals, while facial redness and visible blood vessels treated with Moveo VL typically improve gradually over several weeks as the body naturally absorbs the treated vessels.
-
Some patients notice brighter, healthier-looking skin within a few days, while other improvements develop gradually over several weeks as your skin's natural healing response stimulates new collagen. Pigment and vascular concerns may continue to improve in the weeks following treatment. Results vary depending on the treatment performed and your individual treatment plan.
-
MoveoGlo is a customizable skin rejuvenation treatment exclusive to the DEKA Motus AZ+. It combines Moveo PL (pigmentation), Moveo VL (facial redness and visible blood vessels), and Moveo SR (skin revitalization) during the same visit to address multiple skin concerns at once. During your consultation, we'll determine whether MoveoGlo or an individual treatment is the best option based on your skin concerns and goals.
CO2 Laser Resurfacing
-
Both treatments are performed using the DEKA Tetra PRO CO2 laser, but they're designed for different goals.
CoolPeel is a lighter resurfacing treatment that improves skin texture, fine lines, enlarged pores, and sun damage with minimal downtime.
DEKA Pulse CO2 is a deeper fractional resurfacing treatment designed for more advanced signs of aging, deeper wrinkles, acne scarring, and significant sun damage. Because it treats the skin more aggressively, it also requires additional downtime.
During your consultation, we'll determine which treatment is most appropriate for your skin, goals, and lifestyle.
-
CO2 laser resurfacing may be appropriate if you're looking to improve fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, uneven skin texture, or overall skin quality. A consultation is required to determine whether you're a candidate based on your skin type, medical history, current skincare routine, lifestyle, and treatment goals.
-
Downtime depends on the treatment performed.
CoolPeel typically involves several days of redness followed by a sandpaper-like texture as the skin naturally exfoliates.
DEKA Pulse CO2 requires additional healing time and is associated with more redness, swelling, and peeling because it penetrates deeper into the skin.
Your expected recovery, post-treatment care, and anticipated downtime will be reviewed in detail before treatment.
-
While some improvements become noticeable as your skin heals, collagen remodeling continues for several months after treatment. Skin texture, tone, and overall quality typically continue to improve as new collagen and elastin are produced. Results vary depending on the treatment performed, your skin's baseline condition, age, lifestyle, and how closely post-treatment instructions are followed.
-
There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer. The recommended number of treatments depends on your age, skin concerns, treatment goals, baseline skin quality, and the severity of sun damage, wrinkles, or scarring. Someone in their 30s looking for preventative skin rejuvenation may achieve their goals with fewer treatments than someone seeking improvement in more advanced photoaging or acne scarring. During your consultation, we'll develop a personalized treatment plan based on your skin, goals, lifestyle, and clinical assessment.
-
Yes. Depending on your skin concerns and treatment goals, CO2 laser resurfacing may be combined with other laser treatments or medical-grade skincare as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. During your consultation, we'll discuss the safest and most effective approach for your skin.
